We asked ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, and Mistral: "What's the best screen recording tool for product demos?" This turned out to be the most lopsided category in our entire 204-tool audit.
Average visibility: just 1.6/6 — the lowest of any category we tested.
**Loom scores a perfect 6/6 while every other tool is nearly invisible. **This is the most extreme winner-take-all pattern across all 34 categories we audited.
Screen Studio and Tella each managed just 1/6 — only Perplexity mentions them. Arcade and Guidde score 0/6, completely absent from AI recommendations.
Loom has achieved something rare: category-defining brand recognition. When AI engines process 'screen recording tool' queries, Loom's massive web presence — tutorials, integrations documentation, review articles — makes it the default answer.
The other tools in this space are relatively newer and haven't yet built the content depth needed to be recognized by AI engines. Screen Studio, despite winning design awards and gaining traction among creators, is essentially invisible to AI-powered discovery.
This extreme concentration means there's a huge opportunity for Screen Studio, Arcade, and others. Any improvement in AI visibility would be significant because the bar is currently so low. A tool that can move from 0/6 to 3/6 would capture meaningful discovery traffic in this category.
Key actions: build structured comparison content against Loom, earn reviews on tool comparison sites, create integration guides, and develop content that directly answers screen recording queries.
