Most SaaS product pages are built to convert human visitors — hero sections, social proof, animated demos. But AI engines don't see any of that. When ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini tries to answer 'What is [Your Product]?', they parse your page for structured, factual information. If it's buried under marketing copy, you're invisible.
Here are the specific product page changes that actually shift AI answers — not theory, but fixes verified across hundreds of SaaS products tracked on EurekaNav's tools directory. Each fix maps to a measurable sub-score in our Visibility Score system (0–100).
AI engines read your product page in a fundamentally different way from humans. They don't scroll, don't watch videos, and can't interact with JavaScript widgets. What they do is extract text content, parse HTML structure, and look for machine-readable metadata. A page optimized purely for human conversion often scores poorly on the three dimensions that matter for AI: completeness, structure, and schema markup.
EurekaNav measures this with a completeness score (0–100) that checks how many of the 15+ fields AI engines look for are present and filled: product name, category, pricing, features list, use cases, integration list, comparison data, FAQ, and structured schema. Products in our Ready tier — those with a display score of 65 or above — consistently have completeness above 60. Products stuck in Needs Review almost always have completeness below 40.
Your homepage hero probably says something like 'Supercharge Your Growth' or 'The Platform That Scales With You.' These phrases tell AI engines nothing about what your product actually does. The first 100 words of your page are the most important for LLM extraction.
**Before: **'Unlock Your Potential With the Future of Work.'
**After: **'[Product] is a [category] tool that helps [audience] [do specific thing]. It integrates with [key platforms] and offers [key differentiator].'
This single change affects how every AI engine describes your product. It maps directly to the Brand Visibility dimension of your Visibility Score — does the AI know what you are?
AI engines look for explicit feature lists — ideally in both HTML (ul/li elements with clear headings) and JSON-LD (featureList property in SoftwareApplication schema). A product page that lists features only in hover-over cards or animated carousels provides zero structured data for AI extraction.
**What to do: **Create a dedicated 'Features' section using plain HTML with H3 headings for each feature group. Each feature should have a name and a one-sentence description. Then mirror this in your SoftwareApplication schema featureList property.
Products with transparent pricing that AI engines can read get recommended more often in purchase-intent queries like 'best affordable [category] tools.' Products behind login gates or 'Contact Sales' buttons are invisible to these queries. This is one of the highest-impact fixes for the freshness sub-score — AI engines check whether pricing data is current and publicly accessible.
**What to do: **Display at least your starting price publicly. Add Offer schema with price, priceCurrency, and billingDuration. Include a 'Pricing verified [date]' label. If you have a free tier, make that explicit — 'Free plan available' is a strong AI citation trigger.
FAQ sections serve double duty for AI visibility. First, they provide exact question-answer pairs that AI engines can extract word-for-word. Second, FAQPage JSON-LD markup makes these Q&A pairs machine-readable, which significantly boosts the chance of appearing in AI-generated answers.
**What to do: **Add 5–8 FAQs covering: what the product does, who it's for, how pricing works, what integrations are available, how it compares to alternatives, and how to get started. Implement FAQPage schema for each Q&A pair.
When users ask AI engines '[Product] vs [Competitor],' the engine looks for dedicated comparison content. If your competitor has a comparison page and you don't, their framing becomes the AI's default narrative. This directly impacts your Category Discovery score — whether AI engines include you when users browse your market category.
**What to do: **Create /your-product-vs-competitor pages for your top 3–5 competitors. Use HTML comparison tables with feature rows. Be honest — AI engines cross-reference claims. Partial schema is almost as bad as no schema. If your SoftwareApplication markup only has name and description, the AI knows you exist but can't answer detailed questions about you. Complete schema — with applicationCategory, operatingSystem, offers, featureList, screenshot, aggregateRating — gives AI engines enough data to confidently recommend you.
**What to do: **Audit your current schema at schema.org/validate. Fill every applicable property. Key ones: applicationCategory (use Google's standard taxonomy), offers (with price and currency), operatingSystem, featureList, and aggregateRating (if you have reviews on G2/Capterra).
AI engines trust your product claims more when they can verify them from independent sources. Adding sameAs links in your Organization schema (pointing to your LinkedIn, GitHub, Crunchbase, G2, and directory listings) and citing third-party reviews on your product page increases your evidence score — the density and quality of independent sources backing your product claims.
**What to do: **Add sameAs URLs to your Organization JSON-LD for every legitimate profile. Embed or link to G2/Capterra review badges. Mention press coverage or industry report inclusions on your product page. Each independent source adds to your evidence signal.
After making these changes, track two things:
