The Results: Perfect 100% Mention Rate
Otter.ai was mentioned in 8 of 8 prompt checks across 6 AI engines — a perfect 100% mention rate. It ranked #1 in discovery queries across 3 of 3 tested engines. This is the highest score we've seen in any teardown so far.
What Otter Does Right
- Strong comparison presence: Existing /compare pages give AI engines structured data to work with
- Consistent discovery dominance: Ranked #1 for 'best AI meeting assistant' across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini
- Broad surface coverage: Homepage, pricing, trust pages, docs, blog, and comparison pages all exist and are crawlable
But We Found 3 Gaps That Competitors Can Exploit
Gap 1: Evidence Gap (Medium Severity)
Customer stories page exists but lacks quantified outcomes. Testimonials are name-and-quote only — no measurable before/after metrics that AI engines can cite. When someone asks 'Is Otter.ai worth it for a 100-person company?', AI engines can confirm Otter has customers but can't make a ROI-based argument.
Why this matters: As specialized tools like Gong and Fathom add quantified case studies, they'll gradually steal purchase-intent recommendations from Otter. Evidence is the tiebreaker in AI recommendations.
